Happy Friday to you all!  I want to thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedule to meet with Mrs. Ellis and I on Wednesday.  It was great to be able to meet, discuss your child’s progress, show samples of their work, and hear your thoughts and concerns.  This was a valuable day for us and we hope it was for you as well.  Please know that our door is always open if you want to stop by and chat about anything.

We have some things coming up in the next couple of weeks…

Pumpkin Math on Tuesday – who knew you could use Math skills such as observing, estimating, counting, measuring and weighing at the same time as you are having fun with pumpkins!  If your child could bring a shirt to wear over their uniform polo as well as some kitchen gloves (unless they are okay with pumpkin goop!) that would be great!  We are also in need of one more parent to help out on Tuesday.  We will start right at 9 and will be done by 11:30.

Fall Dress Up on Wednesday –  students can wear casual dress with fall colours on Wednesday!  It is also our hot lunch day.

Winter Uniform Begins on November 1st – Thursday marks the day we begin winter uniform.  This means students must wear pants and the girls have the option of pants or kilts.  Shorts will return again when we switch over to summer uniform.

Neat Uniform  – Please ensure that the uniform pieces you are purchasing for your child are from Neat Uniform.

Genius Hour Kickoff – it’s almost time for Genius Hour to begin!  Next week we will begin our pre-genius hour activities and  have our kickoff assembly on Monday, November 5th.  This is a very exciting time for our students and we look forward to getting started!

Scholastic Book Fair – This takes place Tuesday – Thursday next week.  The book fair opens at 8:30 – 9 and is also open after school.
