I hope you all are enjoying a wonderful weekend!  We only have two weeks of school until spring break!  We will be busy these next two weeks, wrapping up units in the classroom as well as enjoying other special events.  Read below to see what we have coming up!

Bake Sale this Tuesday

On March 5th, the primary department will be hosting a bake sale to support our school’s mission trip to Thailand.  The sale will be open before and after school in the foyer on March 5^th.  Each item will be $1.  There will be individually packaged gluten-free items available. Thank you for supporting Team Thailand.

Math Mayhem this Tuesday – Come and join us in the gym this Tuesday from 6:30 – 8:00 pm for a fun evening of Math games.

Pancake Breakfast

Spring break is right around the corner!  To celebrate we are having a pancake breakfast for grades 4-6 on Friday, March 15th.  Breakfast will be served before school, between 8:00 – 8:50am in Mrs. Goosen, Ms. Froyland and Mrs. Moisin’s portables.  Come early, get some fluffy pancakes, and celebrate a with us.  *We are in need of some parent helpers and griddles.  If you are able to help, please email nmeyerhoff@highroadacademy.com

Art Gala & Talent Show

Thursday, April 11 from 6:30-8:00

Talent Show

Auditions are underway for the talent show portion of our Art Gala.  We have auditions taking place on Tuesday (singers) as well as some make up auditions taking place later in the week.  Teachers will notify your children of these dates and times.

There will be a teacher Judging panel on Monday, March 11 after school.  Mrs. Shinness will be releasing a list of those students who have made it through the first round of auditions to be eligible for this final panel audition.  For those students elected by the panel, they will be responsible to prepare for a Dress Rehearsal which will be held during school on Wednesday, April 10.  Students will need to be ready at this time if they would like to perform on the 11^th.

Reception

PARENTS, WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP PLAN, DECORATE, AND RUN THE RECEPTION DURING OUR ART GALA.  THIS WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH OUR TALENT SHOW!!  We would like different parent committees working with:

• DECORATING and SET UP (This would take place the morning of the Art Gala)
• HELP DURING THE GALA  (rotate different parents)
• CLEAN UP (after the Gala)

WE ARE CELEBRATING OUR 40^TH ANNIVERSARY AT HIGHROAD AND WOULD LOVE TO MAKE THIS A SPECIAL RECEPTION!!

Genius Hour – We have two more weeks of Genius Hour until spring break.  After the break we will be using our Genius Hour time to focus on a Science Project.  Genius Hour will resume once our Rube Goldberg Machines are complete.
