I realized that due to Friday being full of pumpkin and fall activities we will not have time to do our spelling and current events test. These two tests, along with our Bible Memory Verse, will take place on Thursday, October 31st.
I am still in need of 3 – 1 litre containers of apple juice and 8 pumpkins. If you are able to help with these supplies for Friday please let me know ASAP as I will need to pick what is still needed before Friday.
Thanks!
The grade 4-6’s will be reciting Flander’s Field for the Remembrance Day service. I have decided that this will be in place of the Bible Memory Verse for this coming week. Students will need to memorize this for Thursday, October 31st and will write it out for me in place of their normal BMV.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
Mrs. Goosen
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
So sorry that this blog post is coming so late! The class did an AMAZING job on their switch projects! I was so impressed with the creativity and attention to detail that the students had! I have posted some pictures below for you to enjoy! Well done, grade six!

I am in need of seven bags of microwave popcorn and four 1 litre containers of apple juice. If you could please let me know if you can bring one of these items that would be great! Thanks!
We have been enjoying a gorgeous fall this year and the grade 4-6 classes are going to be celebrating all things fall on Friday, November 1st.
Morning: Pumpkin Math
In the morning the grade six students will be teaming up with Mr. Hancock’s grade four class to have some fun with pumpkins and Math. We will be measuring and weighing pumpkins, estimating and counting seeds and graphing all about pumpkins! Be prepared for lots of fun and a huge mess! I am in need of 8-10 medium sized pumpkins for next Friday. If you are able to bring one for us to use that would be great!
Afternoon: Fall Fun
The grade 4-6’s will enjoy an afternoon full of fun fall activities! We hope this beautiful weather continues as we will be having lots of our stations outdoors! Get ready for pumpkin bowling, scavenger hunts, fall crafts, snacks and more!
Please wear casual dress in fall colours! Looking forward to a great day next Friday!
Today we celebrated the birthday of the United Nations. The actual day is Thursday, October 24th, however, I will not be teaching the grade 6’s that day so today was the party. We played the ‘Continent Game’ out on the playground where it became very evident who knew their world geography. Reid quickly became the person that the students looked to for the correct answers. Then we watched a music performance that took place in the General Assembly which you can watch here. We ate some chocolate cupcakes & started an art project called ‘Many Coloured Hands’. It was a fun morning and hopefully a good reminder on why the UN is important. I loved spending the day celebrating with your children! Enjoy the week!

The dates for our scholastic book fair are October 29th – 31st.
I realized yesterday that the students in Miss Warden’s class had memorized the passage I had started for Bible Memory Verse. I have changed it to Ecclesiastes chapter 3. It will be updated under the BMV section of the blog.
Have a great weekend!
