Weekly Update
Thank you to all of the families that came out last night to the art gala! It was a lovely evening, indeed! A HUGE ‘well done’ to all of the students who performed in the talent show last night – you did an excellent job!!
We had a great week here in the Grade 5 classroom! Here is a short synopsis of what we have been working on:
Math: We finished up our unit on fractions and are beginning our next unit on measurement
Science: We are working on centers and learning all about the digestive system
Writing: We are learning about fairy tales and fractured tales. We chose the fairy tale that we are going to ‘fracture’ and next week we will work on planning out our new fractured fairy tale
Reading: We are working on our novel Holes
Social Studies: We are continuing to work on our Immigration research project
French: We are getting ready to begin learning French numbers
Spring Sing: Please have your child in their classroom by 6:15 pm on Monday evening. Students can wear their knight’s shirts and jeans.
Cinderella Field Trip: This is next Friday. If you are one of the parents joining us, please pay $7 at the office before Friday.
Victoria Day on Monday: No School
No Spelling next week due to a short week. There is still Bible Memory Verse.
