And the Busy Season is Officially Here…

Hi Everyone,

We’re trying to get a jump on the week here since the craziness that is called ‘December’ is about to hit.  🙂  Though it may be very busy, it will be lots of fun so please check the blog often for updates and all the great things happening both in our class and at Highroad.

FOOD DRIVE:

The Salvation Army Food Drive begins on MONDAY, DECEMBER 2nd!!  The students don’t even know yet and this year the intermediate classes are competing against one another – if you haven’t figured it out yet, Mrs. Goosen and Mrs. Derksen can get highly competitive about inter-class competitions, especially when it’s for such a good cause.  So let’s bring in the most non-perishable food items that we can.  There are buttons available at the school office that students can get for $1 (which is reimbursed when they return the button) if they want to go door-to-door in their neighborhoods.  Please note:  wearing a school uniform and never going alone is highly encouraged!

Food Drive will run from Monday, December 2nd to Wednesday, December 18th.

BRACELET/BAKE SALE FUNDRAISER RESULTS:

The grade 5/6 and 6 classes raised a whopping $526.49 for the Red Cross to help with restoration efforts in the Philippines.  That money will be DOUBLED by the Canadian government to send overseas.  Thank you to all of our students that made bracelets – sales ran out and I hear they took orders! 🙂 I guess the in-class bracelet making isn’t quite over yet. 😉
