I hope you are all enjoying this rainy weekend!  We had a great week in grade 5 – lots happening as we enter December and finish up the last couple weeks of school before Christmas break.

Classroom Decorating Party –  it’s time to blast the holiday favourites and decorate our classroom for Christmas!  This Monday we will pull out all of our decorations and make our classroom festive!  If you have any extra decorations that you aren’t using, we would love to borrow them for a few weeks!  Everything will be returned.

Interviews on Wednesday, December 6th – If you would like to meet with us for an interview then please book an appointment through the office.  We will be having interviews from 3:30 – 6:30 on Wednesday.

December School Calendar Change – there has been a change to the calendar this year.  The primary Christmas concert is now on Thursday, December 21st from 1:00 – 2:00pm,  with school being dismissed after the concert.  Friday, December 22nd there will be NO SCHOOL.  Please mark this change in your calendars.

Food Drive – The food drive has officially begun.  We are working together as a school this year, trying to get 15,000 school wide points.  If we do, our school prize will be a half day on Friday, January 12th.  Each item will be assigned a point value – items on the ‘preferred list’ will be assigned 5 points each and every dollar donated will also be worth 5 points each.  All other items are worth 1 point each.  Please DO NOT send along Mr. Noodles as they get smashed up during transport.  Here are the preferred items & thank you for your support:

• Tuna
• Pasta
• Canned Lunch (alphagetti, ravioli etc)
• Canned Soup
• Peanut Butter
• Canned Vegetables
• Jam
• Juice Boxes (3 points per box)
• Granola Bars (3 points per bar)
• Canned Fruit
• Chunky Soup (no water added)

Spelling Words:  radio, video, shelf, valley, mouse, echo, diamond, salary, lawyer, prisoner

New BMV – we are memorizing Christmas verses up until the break and they are on the BMV page.
