Weekly Update

We’ve had a great week here in the Grade 5 Classroom!  Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been working on.

Reading:  Finishing up a combined Science & Reading project on the digestive system.  Students may be bringing home brochures this weekend to finish them up as they will not have any more classroom time to complete them.

Writing:  Students are working on comparative writing as well as weekly grammar practice.

Math:  We’ve just finished our unit on patterns and algebra and will begin fractions and decimals next week.

Science:  Students are learning about the respiratory system.

Social Studies:  Students are finishing up a project on a region of Canada.

Bible:  Explored how God created us each unique.

PE:  We are getting ready for the upcoming track meet and focused on the 400 m run & long jump

Art:  Perspective art piece

A Few Other Items:

No School on Friday: pro d day on April 26th

Track and Field Meet: we are missing some permission slips.  Please return them by Monday.

Kindness Crew Bake Sale:  On Tuesday, April 30th the kindness crew will be hosting a bake sale to raise funds for the library.  The crew will be involved in creating posters, bringing treats and selling at the sale.  We are asking students involved to please bring one dozen treats on the morning of April 30th.  All items will be sold for $1.
