Thank You

We want to thank you so much for trusting us with your children this year.  Teaching this class was wonderful – even with the events that transpired this spring, your children were amazing!  Thank you also for the beautiful cards and gifts – they are very appreciated!  We wish you an amazing summer!

Mrs. Riley also has a note for you…

I would like to thank for helping to make this such a wonderful year. You as parents, and your students welcomed me with kindness back in October and were so lovely throughout this year.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being in the classroom and online with your kids and getting to know them and watch them grow and learn and have fun together. They have warmed my heart with their kind words and little notes and gifts, and I am thankful.

Thank you also for all the gifts and cards and treats this last week. It all has been so appreciated. I wish you all a restful summer, full of wonderful memories.

Leah

Have a wonderful summer & we look forward to seeing you all in fall!

A Few Things…

Good afternoon!

Tomorrow and Thursday are the last days of school!  Just a reminder that we will be having class parties and I would love for students to bring a pre-wrapped snack to share!

Items that need to be returned:

Whiteboards:  I use these daily for Math instruction and would like them all to come back to me.  Please look through your child’s school items and ensure this comes back to school.

Library books:  I have emailed parents about library books and would also ask that you check at home to see if your child has any books from our classroom library.

Chromebooks:  If you would like to keep your Chromebook until after our final class meeting, that is great.  If you have a device your child can use on Friday and they have completed all of their assignments, it can be returned on their last day.

Thank you!

Final Weekly Update

Hello families!  It’s hard to believe that this will be my final weekly update!  It feels very surreal that the end of the year has come – and what a strange school year it has been!  It has felt so different from any other school year I have ever experienced.  I am sure you can say the same!  It has been lovely to be able to connect with your child over these last several months, whether it be virtually or in the classroom.  They should be so proud of what they have accomplished during this difficult time.  They have persevered through a tough season and now get a well deserved break!

Here are a few things for you to note about this week coming up:

Class Party:  We will be having class parties this week – one on Wednesday and one on Thursday afternoon.  We usually have lots of food and drinks at our class parties – and I would still like to do that.  If you could bring a pre-packaged item of some sort on either Wednesday or Thursday, that would be awesome!  Individual small bags of chips, cookies, candy, drinks etc. would be greatly appreciated.  We will have approx. 12 students on each class day.

Class Store:  Students will enjoy our last time at the class store.  Thank you for stocking this up for us during the year!  We appreciate it!

Google Classroom:  This is our final week of Google Classroom. We will post all of our assignments at the beginning of the week and students can work on their at their leisure!  Please remember to ‘finish strong’ and hand your assignments in once they are completed.

Returning Chromebooks & Library Books:  We would like ALL chromebooks and library books returned before Friday, June 26th.

Final Class Meeting on Friday at 9:30:  I look forward to seeing the class for one final class meeting on Friday!  We will have some fun together and share some memories of our year!

Weekly Update

It was sooooo nice to see the students who were able to come back this week!  My heart is feeling very full!  I also loved my Friday morning chat with those students who are continuing their learning at home.  =)

We have TWO weeks left of school!  We are still putting out assignments during the week on Google Classroom.  There is not a lot of time during the day at school to work on those assignments, so please ensure they are using their home days to get these last assignments finished.

I also have a self reflection piece that needs to be done this week as it is going into the report card.  If your child is coming to school this week they will be bringing home a folder full of pre-spring break work/duotangs that we don’t need anymore.

This afternoon I will be going through all of the work on Google Classroom.  If your child has work outstanding you will receive an email from me.  Please help them get all caught up as we are working on report cards over the next couple of weeks and would like to have as much completed work as possible.

I have attached a schedule for next week.

Agenda June 8 – 12

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

Friday Video Chat Time Change

Hello!  If your child is not coming to school and wants to meet with me on Friday morning, I have changed the time.

On Friday, please come for a visit between 9:00 – 10:00.  There is a Google Meet link in Google Classroom.

I look forward to visiting with you!!
